On Poisson-Samade Distribution: Its Applications in Modelling Count Data

چکیده

A new mixed Poisson model is proposed as a better alternative for modelling count data in the presence of overdispersion and/or heavy-tail. The mathematical properties were derived. maximum likelihood estimation method employed to estimate model’s parameters and its applications three real sets discussed. used frequencies that have been different literature on subject. results compared with Poisson, Negative Binomial Generalized Poisson-Sujatha distributions (POD, NBD GPSD, respectively). parameter estimates expected goodness-of-fit statistics under each are computed using R software. show PSD fits than POD, GPSD all considered. Hence, provided exhibiting property.
